A month or so ago I’d come across http://del.icio.us and briefly mentioned it here. Well, recently I’ve actually started utilizing it. To be honest, it is an excellent idea and has a lot of potential to grow. The basic idea is that you place a bookmark on your toolbar that reads post to del.icio.us and while browsing you can click on the bookmark to bookmark the page your browser is currently on. At that point you can add tags or a brief comment to the link, then you submit it. A page is created with your links, you can see mine at http://del.icio.us/kingjosh, which is really a simple link blog. The nice thing is that each time you bookmark a page (create a link), it tells you how many other people have linked to that page. This might help you to get a better idea of how accurate the information is that you’ve bookmarked, or at least how popular it is. The only issue I see with http://del.icio.us is that it seems a prime target for SEO abuse . . . let’s hope they have a prevention in place already. So go there and check it out! You don’t have to download anything, and registration is free.
